I traveled to Santa Cruz at the end of April, 2017 for a week long riding vacation with Jec. The experience was wonderful! Before coming to Santa Cruz we talked about my riding goals over email and she set a plan for a week to help me reach those goals. I ride at first level and I was specifically interested in improving my position and aids. I loved that she had a variety of horses – different levels, breeds, heights, to ride and they all taught me something different. I was also able to do a bonus trail ride and watch her teach other lessons which was a lot of fun. The accommodations were wonderful and an awesome breakfast was delivered in a basket each morning. Besides riding, the Santa Cruz area is a beautiful place to explore. Jec and her friends had great recommendations for restaurants and things to see and do while I was there. I drove down the coast, checked out the redwoods, and did some biking and exploring in near by Capitola. Probably the most rewarding thing was coming back home and being able to apply what I learned with my mare and have her respond so well. Fabulous trip!
