Ground Pole and Cavalletti Exercises for Equine Athletes
June 8 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Giddyup!, it’s the perfect time to tune up your horse’s impulsion and coordination, not to mention his fitness and mental stimulation. In this mixed levels group clinic we will practice numerous exercises utilizing ground poles, from simple to challenging. Come discover creative ways to school your horse while also sharpening your own finesse and cues. As always, Jec will provide coaching and feedback to explain the fitness adaptations offered by each exercise. Modifications will be offered to accommodate senior, gaited, or green horses who wish to participate as well. You will leave with a more aligned, supple, and proud horse. Limit 10 participants.
9am: Mazes, chutes, and ride-betweens: Effective exercise routines designed to ride around/through/between ground poles in various gaits.
10am: Cavalletti sequences for adjusting strides, balance, and body posture.
11am: Putting it all together: ride around, through, and over poles while performing gait transitions.
12noon: optional hack and cool down period on the front track. We have just expanded our riding track this spring– come enjoy the space!
Cost: $125 per rider; $35 to audit.
